Pink Ivory Sterling Silver Opal and Turquoise Gemstone barrette, luxury hair clip Medium

This elegant barrette is hand sculpted in finest quality, musical instrument grade, jet-black Bloodwood.  I then add a stunning *large* genuine amethyst gemstone in a simple, elegant sterling silver setting.  This is a statement barrette! It's thicker, more substantial, "chunkier" than our standard barrettes to showcase and support that huge piece of premium amethyst. A stunning handcrafted piece of heirloom quality hair jewelry perfect for gifting or treating yourself.

Clip Size: Medium approx. 3" size of clip: 70mm / 2 3/4" Good barrette to pull back a section of normal thickness hair or all of fine hair. Photo is example of wood barrette in a specific wood type. Each is individually handmade and may have some slight variations in appearance.

Pink Ivory- (Rhamnus zeyheri - South Africa) No, not the tusk from  a pink elephant, but a beautiful wood from Mozambique. Pink Ivory, with its pale to hot pink coloring  and lovely grain figure, is extremely rare and very difficult to find. Called "the royal wood of the Zulus" because of its  importance in local customs. Expensive!

Our barrettes are gallery quality. We use AAA premium materials: the world's finest sustainably sourced exotic and domestic hardwoods, precious metals and gem grade gemstones. Each piece is lovingly hand crafted one at a time in our northern Michigan studio.

**Always hold and insert hair sticks and barrettes using the wood and metal base, not the decorative top portion of the stick / pin / clip**

We've been making wood barrettes for over 20 years. Our wooden barrettes are all made from SOLID wood.  **Never a thin layer of veneer over a cheaper base wood**
They are screwed not glued to the made in France clips for a strong, durable, mess free joint.

Barrette clips vary quite a bit in quality. I use only the highest quality French Barrette Clips on all my barrettes. They have proven themselves over time to be the best available.
