Handcrafted large wood barrette in rare Black and White Ebony. Because of its limitless variety of distinctive black lines that make each piece a true one-of-a-kind. They look to me like Chinese calligraphy or pen and ink landscapes. Though rare and difficult to find, the beauty of the patterns formed in Black and White Ebony make for some of the most interesting inlays of fine boxes and is very sought after in the musical instrument industry as well. This is a little wider than our standard barrettes to highlight the amazing wood grain.

Size: Large approx. 3 3/4" size of clip: 80mm / 3 1/4" The most commonly used barrette size. Will work well for most hair types. **Each barrette is individually handmade and may have some variations in appearance**

Black & White Ebony - (Diospyros Embryopteris - South East Asia, Burma) A distinctive, rare, true Ebony, Black & White Ebony originates from Southeast Asia and Laos. By definition, Ebony has no hue, but rather contains neutral colors like black or white. This special variety has inky black variegations flowing through pale milky white. It is an incredible wood with amazing color contrast.

Barrette clips vary quite a bit in quality. I use only the highest quality French Barrette Clips on all my barrettes. They have proven themselves over time to be the best available.
