A lovely, intricate sterling silver Celtic knot adorns the front of this handmade wood hair pin. I hand carve the body of this 5 3/4 inch long wooden hair pin out of Curly Koa wood. Each hair pin lovingly hand crafted in my northern Michigan studio.
We've been making wood hair pin for over 25 years. They have a specially designed shaped top and profile (curving in and back out again - like an hourglass) which helps them maintain a tight firm hold in the hair. Edges are smoothed and transitions are eased for a no snag safe hold in your hair.
Curly Koa (Hawaiian Islands) - Reddish to dark brown with some black streaks, Medium texture usually with straight grain to wavy. Because this species is in limited supply it is hard to find and is expensive! Each pin is individually handmade and may have some slight variations in appearance.
Each of our Hair Pins comes with detailed instructions explaining how to use it. They are presented in a lovely box with ribbon perfect for gifting.
